Group Details: The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international organisation of lay people dedicated to helping people in need. It is Catholic in character, with membership open to all who wish to live their faith by loving their neighbour in the person of the needy. The Parish group meets once a month.

“Happy Hour for Senior Citizens”
Group Details: This Group meets fortnightly in the St John’s school hall. Games and afternoon tea are provided for local senior folk. Prizes are well received and the music sing-a-long is enjoyed not only by guests but also the helpers!

Group Details: Our motto is faith and service with a focus on social justice which affects families nationwide. We work to increase the awareness of the role of women and raising their status in the church & wider community
“Secular Franciscans”
Group Details: The Secular Franciscan Order belongs to the Franciscan Family and is formed by the organic union of all the Catholic fraternities, whose members, moved by the Holy Spirit, commit themselves through profession to live the Gospel after the manner of St. Francis in their secular state following the Rule approved by the Church. We meet on the second Friday of each month in the Fr Pierce Room at St Johns Church.

“Marian Mothers”
Group Details: Marian Mothers is network of groups of women who meet for prayer and discussion. Marian Mothers Groups began in 1981 in Wellington, to help women who were looking for support and encouragement in their role as Christian mothers.

“Divine Mercy”
Group Details: Members meet each Sunday afternoon in front of the tabernacle at St John’s church to express their trust in Jesus‘ unfathomable mercy.
“Devotion to Our Lady of Medjugorje”
Group Details: The Medjugorje Group meets each Wednesday between 2p.m. and 3 p.m. at St John’s Church to say the Rosary, the Chaplet and Consecrations as well as Spiritual Readings.

“Catholics Returning Home”
Group Details: This programme is for people who would like to reconnect with the Catholic Church but don’t know how to go about it. People leave or wander away from the church, for various reasons, some just drift away, others feel as if thy have been chased away, others just grow weary of religion and Catholicism. The programme consists of seven sessions for about one and a half hours each week.

“Alpha”
Group Details: Is there a God? Why am I here? Who is Jesus? What about other religions? The Alpha course tackles these and other questions in a ten week opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith to your life today. It is a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity centered around a meal, a talk and a small group discussion.
“Caring Group”
Group Details: Our Group provides for Parishioners who need care help or support during difficult times. This includes: Providing transport for Hospital appointments Pointing someone in the right direction when in need of assistance from Social Services. For a Parishioner who was housebound and required help with completing forms for Government Agencies.
“Family Group”
Group Details: Family Groups have been active in the parish for over 20 years. Each of the nine groups meet monthly for no or low cost activity. These gatherings allow people to get to know one another, form friendships, have fun and quite simply joyfully experience Christian life with others. One misunderstanding we have noticed is that many people think this Movement is just for families. This is not the case. Passionist Family Groups are for everyone, no matter what age or family circumstances. Our motto “ A Family for All”

“Play Group for Pre-schoolers”
Group Details: This is a social group for mums, dads, grandparents and carers, with young children of the community. Its about having fun while spending time together with our children and getting to know others. We meet every Wednesday morning from 9.30a.m. to 11.30a.m. in term time.
“Education in Faith”

“Children and Youth”
Children’s Sunday Liturgy
We provide liturgy at Mass for the children, which is parallel to the liturgy for the adults at a level that the children can participate in. Our dedicated teams of catechists conduct Children’s Liturgy at St. John’s during the 9am Mass and at St Francis during the 10.30am Mass. The programme includes child related readings of the day, prayers and worksheets at different age levels.
