Our Sacramental Programme encompasses the education for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and Holy Communion.
To be eligible for the programme the candidates must meet the following criteria:
- The candidate must be supported by a family who is practicing their Catholic faith and will take them to Mass every weekend.
- The candidate must be Baptised and 8 years or older.
- To have a copy of their baptism certificate emailed to sacraments@ecbcatholic.org.nz
- The candidate and their family must be enrolled members of the Catholic Parish of East Coast Bays and have a valid (working) email address for communications from the parish via our data base ‘Infoodle’.
- To enrol please follow this link: registered on the Parish roll.
- The candidate and their parent or sponsor must attend all the sessions and events of the programme. Dates are listed below, please do not enrol in the programme if you already have commitments on any of the dates or times.

As Catechists we hope to create moments for you and your candidate to encounter Christ. The programme seeks to catechise the parents, guardians and sponsors of the candidates so that they in turn can catechise their candidate in a manner suitable to their age and stage. Materials are prepared to support this education and future development. We aim to help families and individuals see that the Sacraments of The Catholic Church have an ongoing place in our lives and can bring our parish community closer together.
To register for the programme you will need to have the following information available before filling in the form. Unless you provide this information, your registration will not be complete.
- A digital copy of the candidates Baptism Certificate (Image or PDF)
- A sponsor who is a practicing Catholic and is able to speak to the candidate every week. This can NOT be a parent, but, may be family member who is only in contact by phone. You will need their name, their email address (valid) and the name of the Parish where they practice their faith.
- $35 per candidate to cover the cost of the materials that will be supplied during the programme.
