2025 East Coast Bays Parish Sacramental Programme

Our Sacramental Programme encompasses the education for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and Holy Communion. As Catechists we hope to create moments for you and your candidate to encounter Christ. The programme seeks to catechise the parents, guardians and sponsors of the candidates so that they in turn can catechise their candidate in a manner suitable to their age and stage. Materials are prepared to support this education and future development. We aim to help families and individuals see that the Sacraments of The Catholic Church have an ongoing place in our lives and can bring our parish community closer together.

Candidates will need:

  • To be 8 years or older.
  • To be baptised and have a copy of their baptism certificate emailed to sacraments@ecbcatholic.org.nz
  • To be registered on the Parish roll before 28 February 2025.
  • To have a sponsor who is a practicing Catholic and is able to speak to the candidate every week.
  • To have either a parent, guardian or sponsor attend all 10 sessions in order to catechise their candidate, so that the candidate is eligible to receive the sacraments. Unless ill, the candidate needs to attend all the sessions and events and complete their ‘homework’ activities.

Dates:

Iona and Amanda
